It's a while since I last used Mandelbulber,
but on checking this one,
it's just a scale 2 Kaleidoscopic IFS.
The 'grid' is the way it appears, so you
just have to get pretty deep inside and
then find the 'sweet spot'.

Yeah, think it works really well as a purely abstract image.
Would really love to see it HUGE as you say, but max I can personally print to is only A3+.
